I love celebs ~ Twitter has some doozies on there ... and some of my all-time faves, like Soleil Moon Frye ♥♥♥ (I grew up with Punky Brewster) and Dax Holt from TMZ.

Plus, Twitter is like instant gratification. Refresh has become my friend over the past couple of months.

No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.

I was reminded the other day of one of my all-time favorite movies that really had a LARGE impact on my life. That movie is (drum roll please) ... Dead Poets Society!

I wrote poetry at the time and boy is this movie filled with some of the best. Plus there are some fabulous quotes as well.

Here are some of my faves:

I'm really glad that I could share these with you. If you have not seen this movie, then I highly, highly recommend it. I mean, really. Go. Now. Yes, right now.

Dead Poets Society changed me deep in my soul. You see, if you've seen the movie, I was a lot like Todd Anderson ... and always wanted to be like Charlie Dalton or Neil Perry. I was quiet, reserved, shy, terrified of public speaking, reclusive. I didn't "suck the marrow out of life" ~ I "choked on the bone." The only way that I was really able to survive the whole high school experience was through my poetry.

I am different now. Still terrified of public speaking, but I'm not quiet, reserved, shy or reclusive anymore. I found strength within myself that I was never able to tap into, until after school. If any of you are experiencing anything like I was at that time, I suggest that you seriously watch this movie. Even though it won't fix things, I believe that it will make you feel better about yourself, about poetry and about life. If nothing else, you'll be able to admit that you've seen one of the best movies of all times!!!

Lovin' you guys, although you've all moved to the other site (www.sogopro.com) which I love, don't get me wrong ... I just miss you, that's all. I go to that site every single day. The site is awesome and helpful and absolutely amazing ... just different. I'm weird. I know. Still love you and miss you!

Candle In The Wind ...

Ever since I was a little girl, Marilyn Monroe has been one of my favorite actresses/singers of all times. For being such a beautiful face in the crowd, she had a rough life and in the end, she never received the kudos that I believe she should have. She was very smart (although none-too-many believed that). I thought I would share some of her quotes with you, so that maybe you could understand as well how wonderful she really was. She touched my heart in every movie she was in, every interview that she gave and every song that she sang.


"My illusions didn't have anything to do with being a fine actress. I knew how third rate I was. I could actually feel my lack of talent, as if it were cheap clothes I was wearing inside. But, my God, how I wanted to learn, to change, to improve!"

And there you have it! Marilyn Monroe. Real. Envied. Alone. Scared. Strong. Sensitive. Compassionate. Soulful. Aware. Ingriguing.

I can't imagine what life would have been like for her. All that she wanted was to be loved. She got WAY MORE than she bargained for. Fame got in the way and destroyed her inner child, much to her chagrin. I wish that I could go back in time and give her a big giant hug and let her know that everything was going to be ok. Sometimes, that's all people really need ... a little support, a little confidence, a little love. I know I certainly do! Life is just too hard sometimes. It's nice to know that someone cares.

I Wanna Be Sedated ...

Do you ever feel invisible? Like there is a whole lotta stuff going
on around you, but no one sees you or wants your input? I've been
struggling with that feeling for a few days now. Don't know why. No reason
... every reason? WTF is going on anyway?

I'm naturally a quite and shy girl. What has that ever gotten me? People that think that I'm stuck up. People treating me like I don't exist. People not understanding me. People that are nice to me one minute, then take advantage the next. It's really disappointing ... life ... sometimes. I just want to be included, even if I am on the quiet side. Being quiet and shy doesn't mean that I don't have feelings. In fact, I'm sooo introverted sometimes that I think I may have more feelings than most. Too much time to think and rethink things.

I want to leave you with a quote that is close to my heart, especially recently:

Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it -- I own everything about me: my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions, whether they be to others or myself. virtually unemployable
dropped in a sawmill
raised by opossums
in his own private corner of Hades
he weaves his webs
hanging upside-down by his twisted soul

he is a blatant liar
promising to give his word
Swearing to take a vow
vowing to break his promise

Barnaby Drudge is one for the books
forced to extremes
drawn to headlights
rewriting history in his bedside journal
taking credit for every natural disaster
